This policy explains what personal information I collect through themidlifereinventioncoach.com, why I collect it, and how I look after it.

Who I am

This website is run by Valerie Blain Myburgh, trading as The Midlife Reinvention Coach ("I", "me"). I'm based in Costa Rica and work with clients online. You can contact me about your data at [email protected].

What I collect

When you take a quiz or fill in a form: your name, email address, phone number if you give it, and your answers.

When you book a call: your name, email, phone number, the time you choose, and anything you tell me in the booking form.

When you become a client: your onboarding form answers, notes from our sessions, messages we exchange (including on WhatsApp), and your billing details.

Payments: card payments are handled by Revolut Pro. I never see or store your full card number.

When you visit the website: basic technical information such as your browser, device and pages visited, collected through cookies and similar tools.

Why I use it

To send you your quiz results and the emails you signed up for.

To arrange and hold discovery calls and coaching sessions.

To deliver the coaching you've paid for and keep records of it.

To take payments and keep accounts.

To understand how the website is used and improve it.

I use your information because you've given your consent (for example, when you sign up for emails), because I need it to deliver a service you've asked for, or because I have a legitimate interest in running my business. You can withdraw consent at any time.

Emails

If you take a quiz or download something, I'll send you your results and occasional emails about midlife, energy and reinvention, including my coaching programs. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can leave at any time.

Text messages (SMS)

If you give me your phone number and agree to receive text messages, I may text you about bookings, reminders and your coaching. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop receiving messages, or HELP for help.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.

Who I share it with

I don't sell your personal information. I share it only with the services I use to run my business, and only as much as they need:

HighLevel (LeadConnector), for my website, forms, quizzes, bookings and emails.

Revolut Pro, for payments.

Zoom, for online sessions.

WhatsApp, if you're a client and we message there.

Dropbox, for storing client documents.

I may also share information if the law requires it. Some of these services store data outside your country, including in the United States. They are expected to protect it to a standard similar to this policy.

How long I keep it

Email subscribers: until you unsubscribe or ask me to delete your details.

Discovery calls that don't lead to coaching: up to 12 months.

Clients: for as long as we work together, then up to [6] years for accounting and record-keeping.

Cookies

The website uses cookies to work properly and to help me understand how it's used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the site may not work as well without them.

Your rights

You can ask me to:

show you the information I hold about you;

correct it;

delete it;

stop using it for emails or other marketing;

send you a copy of it.

Email [email protected] and I'll reply within 30 days. If you're unhappy with how I've handled your information, you can also contact the data protection authority in your country.

Keeping it safe

I use reputable, password-protected services and limit access to your information to what's needed to work with you. No online system is completely secure, but I take reasonable steps to protect your data.

Under 18s

This website and my coaching are for adults. I don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

If I change this policy, I'll update the date at the top. For important changes, I'll let subscribers and clients know by email.
